Pedicure Socks

Pedicure Socks

But now that the socks are done....all I have to work on is the Origami Sweater again.

What? Make another pair of socks you say? Well, ok!

Origami Sweater

Origami Sweater

Two weeks ago there was an adorable sweater sample hanging at String in Highlands Ranch. I tried it on. It was awesome.

I found the *perfect* yarn for it -- at 75% off I might add!

Then I read the pattern.....the first section is merely 38 inches of 1x1 rib across 66 stitches. I'm almost done with that section. The second section is 68 inches of 1x1 rib across 146 stitches.

I am so glad that I am able to knit 1x1 rib with my eyes closed. I think I knocked out about 8 inches of this while resting my eyes on the couch at the shop (www.EpiphanyTattoo.com) this afternoon!

Dirk's Sassy Stripes

Dirk's Sassy Stripes

Finally finished Dirk's "sassy stripes" socks. I been pretty lazy in the knitting arena lately and I need to get my knitting mojo back on!

Last weekend at String in Highlands Ranch I picked up a great sweater pattern and the angora/merino blend yarn for it! However, it's 1X1 rib in DK weight. For you non-knitters, it means that this is going to take me FREAKIN' FOREVER. But it also means it will be a project I can knit without thinking about and can work on at Friday Night knit nights. I rarely actually knit at these gatherings, so I'll now be able to prove that I do actually knit things!

Yes, I'm still alive and knitting! This sock pattern has been on my "to knit" list for quite some time and I finally got around to it. I finished the first sock last night and need to get started on the second one tonight.

I don't normally knit my socks to a specific pattern and am much less likely to knit them cuff down, one at a time on double pointed needles, but I enjoyed the change of pace with this pattern -- and I *love* the star toe!

Help me help Homeless Boxers at Ho-Bo Care

Last month, we tried something new to help HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue and all the causes listed at iGive. It worked better than we ever expected. We donated over $5,000 in less than 24 hours, so we're going to try it again!

It requires your participation, but it is free and definitely easy.

For each person who joins iGive using the special link below and does just one qualified web search on our site between now and noon Thursday, we'll give HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue a dollar.

5,000 new members, $5,000. No purchase necessary. That's 5,000 new members for all causes, not just yours, so it's a bit of race.

Of course, if these new members search more (or buy something at an iGive store) they'll earn even more money for HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue. Right now, we're donating a special $.02 per search and a bonus $5 for that first purchase plus the usual percentage.

Here's where you come in. The only way HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue will get new supporters and that free $1 (or more) is if you invite them. Send your friends, family, and colleagues the following link in an e-mail, tweet it, chirp it, do a Facebook posting, put up posters, shout from mountain tops (you know the drill) and let them know you think HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue is pretty cool and deserves their support,
especially since it's free! You can even just forward this e-mail.

This is the link:
http://www.igive.com/welcome/warm_reg_promo.cfm?c=15038
(Don't forget to designate Ho-Bo Care Boxer Rescue!)

We're really proud of our search capability, powered by Yahoo! We've made tons of improvements over the past five months, so we want lots of people to try it out and put it to the test. If they keep on searching or shopping after testing us out, so much the better for HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue .

The details:
- Offer active between now and 11:59 a.m., January 21, 2010 (Chicago time).
- New members only (never have been an iGive member previously). All the normal rules of membership, searching, and purchasing apply, our site has the details.
- Once we've given away $5,000 to all causes combined, the offer ends.
- The special link is important. No link, no qualified search, no $1.

Those members that joined last month? They've already raised ANOTHER $5,000+ for their causes through shopping and searching.
