I tried out an 'eye of partridge' heel -- it's more like a blinking one eyed
partridge heel as in a few spots I slipped stitches where I should have knitted and knitted where I should have slipped.

This is what happens when I'm left alone with nothing to do and I don't want to knit the socks I should be working on.

Yesterday at the shop, I had an hour before we closed so I bought some new DPN needles and dug some black cotton out from the bottom of my knitting bag along with a pattern I had printed out forever ago.

It really came out quite lovely. I think my mother-in-law would like to so as soon I fix the crap blocking job, I'll send it off to her.

For whatever reason, I like the picture.

I tried the "eye of partridge" heel for these socks. They turned out more like a "blinking eye of partridge" due to some errors -- but they fit well and no one is really going to notice that I knit when I should have slipped a stitch in a few places.

Suggestions for Pattern

I have in my clutches 400 yards of laceweight two ply cashmere in a lovely peach color.

Suggestions on a nice lacy pattern?

My nutty husband....

This evening I was chatting with him while he was on break at work and he mentioned that he's had a great week with really nice tips, and suggested we go out this weekend. And then he said "And while we're out I'm going to pick out yarn for you to make me a Central Park Hoodie". He loves my sweater and wants one of his own.

I said "It's a girl's sweater".

He replied: "What makes it a girl's sweater? It's got cables, I like cables. It's got a hoodie, I like hoodies. Just put the buttons on the other side."

He does make me smile.

I finally finished this project up - a very easy to memorize lace repeat on size 8 needles makes it a quick going. However, with mohair, you have to remember there is little room for error as ripping back is tricky, if not nearly impossible.

I'll pick up the little shell buttons for the edge either at lunch or this evening.

Central Park Hoodie - It's Done!

Need I say more? I wore it to work today and felt like a rock star.
